BATTER

  • In a big bowl, add Banh Cuon package, rice flour, tapioca starch, salt, water, and vegetable oil (look above for the measurements). Then, stir/whisk until smooth.
  • On low heat, using another pan, add vegetable oil. Wait until oil is hot.
  • Use a ladle and scoop one cup into the pan and swirl the pan in circles to spread the rice batter around. (do it fast because it dries up fast).
  • Once you have a circle nicely formed, place on lid over the pan for a bout 1 minute. Check often to ensure it's not burnt.
  • When it is ready, CAREFULLY flip pan over onto a clean service. Make sure the surface has foil over it.
  • Use a spoon scoop some meat onto the rice batter. Roll the bottom layer closer to you into the center, fold in the sides, then continue to roll. (you still repeat the steps until your batter is done.)
  • Place the finished roll on the side. You are done! Don't forget to try it with the dipping sauce!
