Sesame Balls Recipe

Sesame balls are one of the most famous dessert in the asian culture. Try this one out!

  • 1 cup Hot water to mix with mash potatoes
  • 1 bag Glutinous rice flour 
  • 1 cup Rice flour 
  • ¾ cup Dry mash potatoes
  • 1 can Coconut milk (400 ml)
  • ¾ cup Sugar 1 cup if you like it sweeter
  • 1 tbsp Baking powder 
  • 1 bag White sesame seeds


  • In a bowl, add the dry mash potatoes and 1 cup hot water then stir.
  • Add in 1 cup of rice flour.
  • Add in the one bag of Glutinous rice flour into the bowl.
  • Add 1 tbsp baking powder.
  • Add in the coconut milk.
  • Add ¾ cup of sugar. Mix.
  • Then, start using your hand to mix it. This will become your dough.
  • If the dough is getting try, add little bit of water each time to keep the dough wet.
  • Keep mixing until it looks or feels like clay.
  • When your dough is ready, set it aside.
  • Next, pour the sesame seeds into a bowl.
  • Back to the dough, grab a good pinch from the dough, roll to about one inch wide.
  • Then, roll the ball all over the sesame seeds. Make sure to cover sesame seeds all the ball. Set aside on a clean plate.
  • After you are done with the balls, heat the oil.
  • Add enough oil to fry the sesame balls.
  • When the oil is hot enough, fry the sesame balls until they are golden brown.
  • Once they are done, dry them on a drying rack to cool down. You are done!
